Several months ago, we started working with Darick Reed from Missoula, Montana. Darick traveled, on foot, from Montana to California to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention, and has maintained that passion since his arrival home. He has created incredible programs and campaigns to raise awareness, worked with local organizations to broaden their reach, and worked tirelessly to help communities have access to resources to prevent suicide.
Today, we are thrilled to announce that we are starting the first phase of the Montana Chapter launch. Montana will start with a RAD Youth Council, and a special Youth Leadership Conference in Missoula, Montana this summer, that they hope to open up to youth from around the country. They have already started bringing youth together in their area, and are already planning events that empower, encourage and engage those youth.
Following the RAD Youth Council Montana launch, we will begin the set up of the Excuse Me While I Change The World Montana Chapter. Through this chapter Montana will have local programs from Joe’s Walk For Change and support from our national partner organizations, they will help with the launch of DrumBus Montana and create a bullying and suicide prevention coalition for schools in Montana.
We could not be more pleased with how this launch has gone, we are excited to see Montana grow, and we cannot wait to see chapters starting in other states. Thank you to everyone who helped with the Love For Butte campaign! You can continue supporting Montana by checking out the website, “Liking” them on Facebook and following them on Twitter.
